The Jigawa State Hisbah Board has destroyed alcoholic drinks worth N5.8 million in Kazaure Local Government Area.
The Hisbah Commander, Malam Ibrahim Dahiru, said on Monday in Dutse that 400 cartons of alcohol were seized during raids on bars in the area.
Dahiru said the operation was led by the Chairman of Kazaure, Alhaji Mansur Dabuwa.
He said, “The consumption of beer is banned in all parts of Jigawa State. We will continue to fight against immoral acts including the drinking of alcohol.”
The commander called on residents to support the board with useful information to help them carry out their duties.
He also warned people to stay away from activities that could destroy the society.
