Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has once again captured the spotlight—this time, not for his music but for a recent meeting with renowned French fashion and culture icon, Michèle Lamy.

The encounter, which took place in France, has sparked a flurry of reactions online, with speculation and conspiracy theories flooding social media.

Asake, who recently performed alongside Wizkid at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, shared a photo of himself in what appeared to be a conversation with Lamy on his Instagram Story.

The post quickly gained traction, drawing both curiosity and criticism from fans and observers.

The photo has since gone viral, fuelling allegations from some Nigerian netizens who claim the meeting may signify Asake’s alleged initiation into the Illuminati.

These claims are largely based on Michèle Lamy’s distinctive gothic style and her mystique within fashion and entertainment circles.

A Nigerian user on X (formerly Twitter) commented, “Asake has finally kissed the ring of Hollywood. I just hope it pays off and brings him true fulfillment in the long run. As for Michèle Lamy, she’s no ordinary woman. Let’s not hide it behind art, aesthetics or any those shenanigans.”

Reactions to the post have varied widely. One user, isleofskincare, drew comparisons with another Nigerian star, writing: “Same with Rema. Rema looks like he’s not coming back.” Another, alaye_ng, made more direct claims: “She and her husband Rick Owens are allegedly high priests in the Illuminati hierarchy. She performs all sorts of dark magic and that’s why all the Hollywood celebrities pay reverence to her.”

Others offered humorous takes or lighthearted interpretations. iamossy_ remarked, “That lady is the main Iyaloja. You ain’t going nowhere without her blessing.” EduOmg2023 added, “Asake na deep pikin too… you think he dey do him own stuff with clear eye?”

User i_am_olamide1 weighed in, saying: “Asake go meet person wey strong pass hin village people. I respect that.” Similarly, OghenekomeEvans commented: “Asake’s global move is bold, but every throne comes with a price. Michèle Lamy isn’t just ‘artsy.’ She’s powerful. Let’s not act naive.”

Some responses also challenged the conspiracy theories. Magnus_Brown105 stated: “Sit this one out, bro. What is it with some Africans and their misconceptions about how things work in Western countries? Do you have any proof that Michèle Lamy is who you think she is? As for Asake, I don’t see anything wrong with him trying to integrate into the Western [scene].”

Another user, Ceexz3, pushed back against the superstitions: “Because Michèle gives a scary vibe doesn’t mean she’s a witch, y’all need to chill. Lol.”

Adding to the intrigue, Asake has recently wiped his social media pages, removing posts, chats, and external links—an action that further stirred curiosity among his followers.

In a related development, a Nigerian cleric named Pastor Gideon has also gone viral for claiming to have received a prophetic vision concerning Asake.

In the video, the pastor claimed the singer would abandon his music career, cut his hair, and take up a new life as a preacher.

“Asake will cut his hair and take up his life calling as a pastor,” Pastor Gideon declared, in what has added another layer of public speculation about the artist’s future.

Whether these claims hold any merit or are simply part of the online frenzy remains to be seen. For now, Asake’s international exposure continues to grow—and so does the mystery surrounding his evolving public image.
