Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has alleged that certain unnamed individuals in the music industry are threatening his life.

The 29-year-old artist made this revelation in a post on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter), where he also hinted at stepping away from music before hitting the 15-year mark in the industry.

Blaqbonez used the post to commend veteran rapper and singer Olamide for his remarkable career longevity.

“Respect to @Olamide for this album, to be able to do this like 15 years in is crazy, it’s the type of longevity everyone prays for. real Everlasting Taker,” Blaqbonez wrote.

He added, “Me I no fit do 15 years o, the one wey una see, u go take.”

A concerned fan, responding to the post, pleaded with the rapper not to “kpai” (a Nigerian slang for die), saying, “I no understand, no kpai o. Abeg.”

In his response, Blaqbonez disclosed that there have been threats to his life. He reassured fans that he had already recorded material for future releases to preserve his legacy in case anything happens to him.

“Them say them go kill me, but I don record enough for 3 more albums, no fear, because rap actually hard for some people,” he stated.
