Kano Pillars Football Club has announced the immediate resignation of their Technical Adviser, Usman Abdallah, citing personal reasons.
In a statement released Thursday, the club management said Abdallah received “a significant opportunity” that conflicted with his current role. After discussions, both parties agreed his departure would be best for the team.
Abdallah, who joined just before the 2024/2025 NPFL season, improved the club’s performance – finishing 9th with 53 points, six points better than the previous season.
In an emotional audio message to fans, Abdallah explained: “I’m stepping down for personal development. I informed the Chairman and we agreed the club needs someone fully committed.”
While leaving his position, the coach promised continued support: “I’ll always help Kano Pillars when needed. The fans’ amazing passion made me take this job – I truly appreciate them.”
Club Chairman Ali Muhammad Umar praised Abdallah’s professionalism: “We thank Coach Abdallah for his service and wish him success in his future endeavors.”
The club has not yet announced plans for a replacement as they prepare for the new season.
