French midfielder Paul Pogba has officially completed his 18-month ban from football, but he will take his time before deciding on his next club, sources have revealed.

Pogba, who turns 32 this Saturday, does not plan to sign with any team until the end of the season, even though he is now free to play and train. His options are currently limited, as he can only join clubs in Major League Soccer (MLS) — with the transfer window closing on April 23 — or in Japan’s J1 League, which closes on March 26.

According to sources, Pogba is focused on returning to one of Europe’s top leagues, hoping to secure a spot in France’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. He prefers clubs playing in the Champions League or Europa League and has already received interest from Ligue 1 side Marseille, Serie A’s Fiorentina, and several La Liga teams. However, he has turned down offers from Saudi Pro League clubs and Brazil’s Serie A.

Pogba has also spoken with Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham, but no deal has been made.

The midfielder’s ban was initially set for four years after he tested positive for DHEA, a banned substance, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced it to 18 months after an appeal. His last official match was a brief 29-minute appearance for Juventus in September 2023, and the last time he played a full 90 minutes was in March 2022 with Manchester United.

During his suspension, Pogba trained privately with a personal coach and played informal matches in Miami, where he has been living with his family. He is expected to remain there while he weighs his next move.
