The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited marked this year’s Valentine’s Day by giving free fuel to thousands of drivers across the country.
As part of the #FueledWithLove initiative, over 2,500 motorists received ₦10,000 worth of petrol at selected filling stations nationwide.
Sharing the news on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, NNPCL stated, “This Valentine’s Day, we went the extra mile for our customers! Over 2,500 drivers left our stations with hearts full of joy, receiving free fuel worth ₦10,000 each.”
Many beneficiaries expressed happiness over the gesture, saying it helped reduce their expenses, especially with the rising cost of fuel.
A commercial driver, Musa Ahmed, who received the free fuel in Abuja, said, “This is a big relief for me. I was not expecting it, and it came at the right time.”
Another beneficiary, Ifeoma Okonkwo, a ride-hailing driver in Lagos, described the initiative as thoughtful. “With the way fuel prices are going up, this kind of support means a lot. NNPCL has really done well,” she said.
The #FueledWithLove initiative was part of NNPCL’s effort to appreciate customers and ease the burden of high fuel costs.
