Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has dissolved his cabinet, including the Secretary to the State Government and all commissioners.
The announcement, made on Friday, was described by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addara, as a routine part of governance in the state.
“The dissolution of the cabinet is a normal practice in Nasarawa State, aimed at giving the governor an opportunity to restructure and make adjustments,” Addara said in a statement.
This development comes just three days after Governor Sule suspended the chairman and board members of the Nasarawa State Teachers Service Commission. Their suspension was linked to allegations of unauthorized recruitment of over 1,000 teachers.
While no specific reasons were given for the cabinet shake-up, Addara emphasized that it aligns with the state’s political culture. He noted that other appointees outside the commissioners and SSG were not affected by the decision.
Governor Sule had previously dissolved his cabinet in August 2021, making this a familiar approach in his administration.
“This is a strategic move to reorganize the administration and address pressing issues affecting the state,” Addara explained, suggesting the decision could pave the way for fresh perspectives in governance.
