UK man charged with murder of two on Christmas Day

A 49-year-old man, Jazwell Brown, has been charged with the murder of two women who were fatally stabbed on Christmas Day at a block of flats in Santa Cruz Avenue, Bletchley, Milton Keynes.

The victims, Joanne Pearson (38)and Teohna Grant (24) both residents of Milton Keynes, were pronounced dead at the scene after police responded to the incident at around 6:36 p.m. GMT.

Two other victims, a man in his late 20s and a teenage boy, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital, where they remain in a stable condition. An injured dog, initially reported as deceased, has survived.

Brown faces multiple charges, including, Two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, possessing a knife or sharp-pointed article in a public place and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

Thames Valley Police confirmed the deaths of the two women and expressed their commitment to supporting the victims’ families during this difficult time.

Flowers and tributes have been placed near the scene, reflecting the grief of the local community.

Sophie Pritchard, a resident, described the event as “awful and tragic,” adding, “Something like this shouldn’t be happening anywhere.”

Milton Keynes City Councillor, Ed Hume praised the Newton Leys neighborhood for its resilience, stating, “It’s a close-knit community that looks out for each other, and I know it is shocked and saddened by this incident.”
