Lagos environmental corps arrest 12 miscreants in cleanup operation

 

As part of the effort of the Lagos State government, restore order and cleanliness to the streets of Lagos, the Environmental Sanitation Corps to has arrested 12 individuals during a series of surveillance operations across the state.

This development was announced by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Friday via X (formerly Twitter).

The arrests followed reports from concerned citizens about the increasing nuisance caused by miscreants and destitute persons in various parts of Lagos.

Wahab stated, “Acting on reports from concerned citizens regarding the menace and nuisance caused by miscreants and destitute, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps #LAGESCOfficial (KAI) yesterday deployed surveillance teams to several areas that were flagged in the reports.”

He disclosed that operations were conducted in Falomo, Ikoyi, Adeola Odeku, and Sanusi Fafunwa in Victoria Island, as well as Chisco, Ikate, and Marwa along the Lekki-Ajah expressway. These efforts led to the arrest of 12 suspects, including 10 adults and 2 minors.

Wahab further stated that the arrested individuals would be arraigned in a court of competent jurisdiction, signaling the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of Lagos residents and maintaining public order.
