Cardi B has revealed that she is expecting a new baby, just hours after filing for divorce from her husband, Offset.
The rapper made the announcement on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself with her exposed belly.
In her post, Cardi B wrote, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all!”
She continued, “You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and cannot wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns, and tests laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
Cardi B’s announcement follows her decision to file for divorce from Offset. She did not mention her estranged husband in the pregnancy post, leading to speculation about who the father might be.
Before the divorce news, there were already rumors that Cardi might be expecting. Photos from Wednesday showed her in New York City, where her team tried to shield her with umbrellas, making her pregnancy appear evident.
This will be Cardi’s third child. She has two other children with Offset: Kulture and Wave. Cardi is seeking primary custody of their children, and this may also include the new baby if Offset is the father.
Despite previous rumors of infidelity involving Offset, Cardi B has stated that cheating was not a factor in her decision to end the marriage. She has not mentioned any specific reasons for the divorce.
