Kwara State is gearing up for its inaugural Hajj flight, set to depart from the Babatunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin on May 20, 2024.

The executive secretary of Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, revealed this during an enlightenment program organized for the intending pilgrims in Ilorin.

A total of 3,102 people from the state will embark on this year’s Hajj journey.

Abdulkadir assured that the intending pilgrims would undergo necessary vaccinations and collect their luggage ahead of the departure.

In his remarks, the chairman of the board, Prof. Mashood Mahmud-Jimba, urged the pilgrims to brace themselves for the challenges they might encounter in Saudi Arabia and view them as part of their spiritual journey.

“It’s essential for pilgrims to maintain decorum throughout the pilgrimage, ensuring they earn full rewards from Allah,” Mahmud-Jimba emphasized.

Offering words of wisdom, the Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen, advised the pilgrims to perform Hajj with a deep sense of reverence for Allah.
