The Defence Headquarters has expressed its intention to release the names and photographs of new wanted terrorist and bandit leaders. This move comes after the elimination of several top terrorists and bandit leaders who were on the military’s watchlist.

According to The PUNCH, DHQ had previously declared 19 bandit leaders wanted in November 2022, offering a N5 million bounty for information leading to their arrest.

A source close to the matter revealed that the military is currently compiling a new list of wanted terrorist and bandit leaders, including their pictures.

“The authorities are working on a new list of another wanted terrorist and bandit leaders. It will also contain their pictures. Their lists are being compiled,” the source stated.

The public is expected to assist in neutralizing these individuals, as was done with previous wanted criminals. The exact bounty for this new list has not been disclosed yet, but it will be revealed soon.

the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, confirmed that work on the new list is ongoing and will be released shortly stating, “We are working on the list. It will be out soon,” he said.

The Nigerian military has been successful in eliminating many terrorist and bandit leaders during various operations across the country. In the past month alone, 10 terrorist kingpins were killed.

The DHQ’s commitment to releasing the names and photos of these new wanted leaders demonstrates their ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and banditry in Nigeria.
