Kebbi gov swears in 21 LG administrators
The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, inaugurated 21 local government administrators on Tuesday, charging them to prioritize their connection with the grassroots.
Last month, the governor dissolved all elected chairmen and secretaries of the state’s 21 local governments, citing the expiration of their tenure on February 5.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi, Governor Idris emphasized the importance of the administrators staying closely connected to the people in their localities. He urged them to work diligently to justify the trust placed in them.
“As leaders, I want you to stay with your people instead of leaving them and moving to the state capital. I urge you to work hard, do your work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in you,” Governor Idris stated.
The appointed administrators represent a mix of experienced and young politicians, aligning with Governor Idris’s commitment to involve both seasoned politicians and youths in his administration.
“I want the old, experienced, and seasoned politicians to groom the young ones because they are our future leaders,” the governor remarked.
The Sole Administrator of Birnin Kebbi, Dahiru Nayaya-Ambursa, speaking on behalf of the other administrators, assured Governor Idris of their continued support for the success of his administration.
Nayaya-Ambursa pledged that the administrators would do everything possible to bring positive development to their respective local government areas.
Idris’s call for a grassroots focus underscores his commitment to effective governance and inclusive leadership.
