Liberian footballer drags Rivers Utd to FIFA for contract dispute
Rivers United player, Albert Korvah is taking steps to report his club to FIFA, alleging a breach of contract terms.
The Liberian forward claims to have terminated his contract with Rivers United, the former NPFL champions, due to the club’s purported failure to honor the agreed-upon terms.
Korvah, who joined Rivers United last season from Watanga for a transfer fee of US$50,000, had signed a three-year contract and earned recognition as the best foreign player in the NPFL during the previous season.
Despite his previous success, Korvah has encountered difficulties securing playing time this season, prompting his decision to part ways with the club.
In response, Rivers United has labeled him as Absent Without Official Leave, asserting that he absconded from the team’s camp without proper authorization.
The club, in turn, has issued a statement expressing their intention to address the matter formally. Rivers United has declared their intent to seek redress on the issue, setting the stage for a potential dispute resolution process.
