Bandits kill school principal, kidnap 2 women in Kaduna

Bandits have reportedly killed the school principal of Government Secondary School Kuriga in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Mallam Idris Abu Sufyan,

The attack occurred on Friday evening when the bandits attempted to kidnap him, but he bravely resisted.

Former lawmaker Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District from 2015 to 2019, shared details of the attack on X on Saturday.

According to Sani, Mallam Sufyan lost his life while courageously resisting the abduction, and in the process, two women were kidnapped by the terrorists.

Sani expressed his condolences, stating, “Mallam Idris Abu Sufyan, Principal GSS Kuriga, Chikun LG, Kaduna State was killed by Bandits when he tried to resist abduction. They succeeded in kidnapping two women in the process. May his soul rest in peace. Ameen.”

Colleagues and friends of Sufyan confirmed the tragic incident on various platforms. Aminu Auwal, a colleague, shared the sad news on Facebook, describing Sufyan as a noble and dedicated individual who chose to stay in the village despite constant bandit attacks.

Auwal mourned Sufyan’s death and prayed for the forgiveness of his shortcomings.

Another mourner, Manajer Deeni, expressed sorrow over the school principal’s demise, highlighting that Sufyan had the opportunity to leave the village due to incessant bandit attacks but chose to stay for his people.

“Allah sarki Abusufyan Idrees, you had the opportunity to leave Kuriga village at once, but you chose to stay with your people. He lived all his life trying his best to make the world a better place for the youths and to put his little community on the map. Now he paid the price with his life, armed bandits invaded his house, shot him dead, and kidnapped his wife. RIP Abusufyan,” Deeni lamented.
