Ogun pastor defiles minor, threatens to kill her – Police
Police in Ogun State have arrested a 43-year-old pastor, Clinton John, for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl. The incident took place in the Agbado area of the state.
The Ogun police command’s Spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
The arrest was made following a report by the girl’s family at the Giwa Agbado police station.
According to Odutola, the family had noticed that their daughter was experiencing recurring infections and displaying signs of fear, leading them to suspect that she may have been involved in sexual activity.
Odutola stated, “She was concealing the identity of the person as the parents needed to persuade her and she later confessed that one John, a pastor of Mega Healing Ministry, had fiercely been having carnal knowledge of her, since November 2022.
“Their daughter further stated that the pastor threatened to kill her, if she ever revealed the cagey affair to anyone.”
Upon interrogation, Pastor John admitted to the crime, confessing that he had repeatedly engaged in unlawful sexual acts with the girl.
The victim has been provided with medical forms for treatment and examination, while the suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation.
