Prominent social-political activist Aisha Yesufu strongly criticized former President Muhammadu Buhari for his recent remarks, expressing her displeasure over his lack of empathy and emotional intelligence. 

Buhari, currently residing in his hometown of Daura in Katsina State, sparked controversy when a viral video captured him jokingly stating, “I’m glad Tinubu increased the price of fuel because it reduced the number of people who visit me at home,” during an address to a gathering.

Aisha, reacting to the video, condemned Buhari’s apparent self-centeredness and lack of compassion. 

In a post on X, she remarked, “If selfish and self-centered were people, they would both be Buhari. Zero empathy. Zero emotional intelligence.” 

She highlighted the distressing nature of the situation, expressing concern for those facing difficulties in their lives and questioning the laughter at what she perceived as cruelty to the people.

Aisha Yesufu echoed the sentiments of many Nigerians who attribute the current economic challenges in the country to Buhari’s administration.

“Zero empathy. Zero emotional intelligence.

“There were people laughing at this cruelty to the people.

“If they can afford what about those who can’t and their lives are in difficulties?,” she furthered
