The head coach of Kano Pillars, Abdulahi Maikaba, has pointed to the subpar playing surface at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium as a key factor in his team’s 1-0 loss to Niger Tornadoes during the Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 15.

Bashir Usman’s decisive goal secured the victory for the Ikon Allah Boys.

In a post-match interview, Maikaba acknowledged the adverse impact of the stadium’s pitch on his team’s performance, stating, “The pitch at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna really affected our performance in the loss against Niger Tornadoes.” Despite the setback, Maikaba reassured fans that Kano Pillars’ continental aspirations remain unaffected.

Currently occupying the seventh position on the NPFL table with 22 points, Kano Pillars aims to maintain their competitive edge in the league.
