Hoodlums kill two police officers in Imo
Hoodlums attacked and killed two police personnel at Ahiara Junction in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State on Monday.
The officers were on their way to Ahiara junction when the assailants opened fire, resulting in the tragic loss of two police personnel.
The incident created chaos in the area, with sporadic gunshots forcing residents and passersby to flee to unknown locations for their safety.
Confirming the unfortunate event, Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, issued a statement in Owerri.
In his statement, Okoye said, “Efforts are being made to track down the killers of the two police personnel.”
He assured that the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, and the Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade, along with Joint Task Force operatives, are actively searching the crime scene for evidence that may lead to the apprehension of the perpetrators responsible for the attack and the tragic killing of two policemen.
