Ganduje lauds Uzodimma, Ododo’s election victories
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has extended his congratulations to Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State on his re-election and expressed elation over the overwhelming support exhibited by the electorate in Kogi State, paving the way for Alhaji Usman Ododo’s victory in the governorship poll.
Ganduje, in a statement released on Sunday night, affirmed that the electoral triumphs of both Uzodimma and Ododo underscore the unwavering support Nigerians hold for the APC. He further attributed the victories to the unwavering dedication of Governor Uzodimma and the outgoing Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, in delivering dividends of democracy to their respective states.
Lauding the electorate’s choice, Ganduje remarked, “What gladdens me about the victory of the APC in both Kogi and Imo states is that Nigerians are appreciative of good governance and they want continuity in peace and sustainable growth in their states.”
Reaffirming the APC’s commitment to fulfilling its promises, Ganduje assured the people of Imo and Kogi states that Governor Uzodimma would continue his developmental strides, while Ododo would consolidate the enviable legacies of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Extending an olive branch to the opposition, Ganduje urged them to accept their defeat in good faith and join hands with the newly elected governors in moving their respective states forward.
“You are true democrats. The truth is that we are all winners at the end of the day. Without a viable opposition, there won’t be contestations and democracy. I urge you to join hands with Governor Hope Uzodimma and the incoming governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, in the task of moving your respective states forward.
“You all fought a good battle. As the saying goes, there will always going to be another chance to test your level of acceptability among the electorate,” he said.
