Don’t lose hope, Bode George urges Lagos PDP members
Chief Olabode George, the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, has urged members to remain steadfast, noting that efforts are on to ensure the party regains its lost glory.
George spoke on Thursday at a general assembly of the party in the state, which was held to assure members and loyalists that the PDP remained an indivisible entity despite the outcome of the 2023 general elections.
George acknowledged the crisis that rocked the party before the elections, which was triggered by the selection of Ifeanyi Okowa as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate.
He also acknowledged the demands made by the G-5 governors, led by Nyesom Wike, for the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.
However, George assured members that the party leadership would conduct a thorough post-mortem to resolve all issues that affected the party in the elections. He also said that all members whose actions negatively affected the party would be held accountable.
“I urge all you, who have been faithful, to remain steadfast; we would ensure that the party regains its lost glory,” George said.
