Trent Alexander-Arnold escapes death in car crash
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold escaped death in a car crash on Friday after a 40-foot electricity pylon was uprooted in 70mph winds and nearly fell on him.
The England international was driving his £90,000 Range Rover on a wet country lane in Cheshire when the incident happened.
He was forced to slam on the brakes and swerve to avoid the pylon colliding with another car.
Alexander-Arnold was left “shaken” but uninjured in the crash.
A Police Statement said, “At 10.34am we were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a black Range Rover and a BMW,’ Cheshire Police said in a statement.
“An electricity pole had fallen into the road, causing the accident. Nobody was injured and everything was cleared by 1.05pm.
“We called the energy company and had the electricity turned off.’
According to a source from The Sun, “The wind was so powerful it suddenly ripped up the pylon.
“It was really terrifying. It’s a miracle nobody was hurt. Someone could have easily been killed.
“What are the chances of that happening? Alexander-Arnold must feel like he’s cheated death.
“A few seconds later and it could have gone through his windscreen. It’s absolutely treacherous out there,”
He attended Liverpool training later that day and is expected to be available for the club’s Premier League match against Everton on Sunday.
