The National Board for Technical Education has officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the China-Africa Vocational Education Alliance, marking a pivotal partnership in advancing Technical Vocational Education and Training in Nigeria.
In a statement issued by Hajiya Fatimah Abubakar, the head of media at NBTE, it was revealed that the China-Africa Alliance, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Shandong, has committed to this collaboration.
The primary objective of this cooperation is to assess, refine, and create occupational standards, curricula, and training materials to elevate the quality of TVET programs in Nigeria.
The partnership will also involve the implementation of capacity-building initiatives across various levels and facets of TVET.
Additionally, it aims to fortify institutional ties between China and Nigeria, fostering a collaborative environment for joint development projects and the exchange of trainees.
The signing ceremony of this MoU was attended by key figures, including Zhang Yujia, the Project Coordinator for East and South Africa at China-Africa TVET Alliance, Dr. Zakari Abdullahi, the Desk Officer for Research and Development at NBTE, and Aliyu I. Hassan, the Desk Officer for Digitalization at NBTE.
