Kidnapped Benue commissioner regains freedom
The abducted Benue State Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mathew Abo, regained his freedom in the early hours of Thursday, October 5, 2023.
Abo was abducted by gunmen who invaded his house in Zaki-Biam, Ukum Local Government Area of the state, on Sunday, October 1, 2023.
According to The PUNCH, a source close to the family said that Abo reunited with his family at about 1:00am on Thursday. The source did not state whether any ransom was paid before his release.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Catherine Anene, could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing this report.
