Chicago State University releases Tinubu’s academic records
Chicago State University has complied with a court order to release the academic records of President Bola Tinubu to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
This development follows Atiku’s legal victory in his quest to investigate Tinubu’s academic qualifications for the presidential election held on February 25.
Tinubu had previously submitted certificates from CSU to the Independent National Electoral Commission to confirm his eligibility to participate in the election. A U.S. court ruled on Saturday that CSU must release Tinubu’s academic records for verification, supporting Atiku’s petition challenging the result of the 2023 presidential poll.
Justice Nancy Maldonado dismissed Tinubu’s objection to Atiku’s request and explicitly ordered CSU to provide the academic records to Atiku. In compliance with this order, CSU released the documents on Monday night.
