Banky W calls for thorough police investigation into Mohbad’s death
Nigerian singer and politician Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has urged operatives of the Nigerian police force to duly probe the death of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji popularly known as Mohbad.
Mohbad died on Tuesday at the age of 27. The cause of his death has continued to fuel various speculations on social media, especially in light of various viral videos showing the late singer being molested.
While reacting to the death of the singer, Banky W during an interview session on BBC Pigin stated that it’s important for the police to ensure that they conduct a thorough investigation about the cause of the singer’s death so that the family, relatives and fans of Mohbad can find closure.
“The police needs to conduct a thorough investigation for the sake of his wife, his child, his family, fans and associates.
“I have been told that the Lagos State Governor has directed the DSS to join in the investigation and it’s important for them to note that the world is watching them“, he said in pidgin.
He also condemned the harassment that the late singer faced while alive, according to him, it is important for the government to establish agencies that will protect individuals from harassment.
