In response to the recent fire incident at the old terminal of Muritala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, has taken swift action to resolve the challenges associated with relocating international airlines to the new terminal.
In a statement released by Oluseyi Odutayo, the Head of Press and Public Affairs for the Ministry, dated Saturday, September 9, 2023, it was stated that a task force has been established for this purpose.
The task force comprises key figures in the aviation sector, with Engineer Hassan Musa serving as the Team Leader, and Adebayo Oladipo, General Manager of Aerodrome at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, among its members.
Additionally, Special Assistants to the Minister, Mr. Collins Mukoro, Mrs. Uyoyou Edhekpo, and Mr. Henry Agbebire, are part of this crucial team.
During a recent inspection of the Lagos Airport on Thursday, August 31, 2023, Minister Keyamo had set a deadline of October 1, 2023, for the relocation of international airlines.
