DSS arrest Nasarawa state officials for diverting palliatives
The Department of State Services has apprehended a criminal syndicate in Nasarawa State for allegedly diverting and selling palliatives intended for vulnerable citizens.
In a statement released by the DSS spokesman Peter Afunanya, he said “Among those suspects are officials of Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency and their accomplices in the markets, notably Modern Market Lafia, where the items were being resold,”
The DSS launched an investigation after receiving reports from some state governments about diversifying or selling palliatives. As a result, some of the items have been recovered, and the suspects apprehended.
The suspects have been handed over for appropriate disciplinary measures.
The DSS also urged the public to report any information about this emerging trend to the relevant security agencies.
