As the debate surrounding Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s academic records persists, Nigerian author and political commentator Reno Omokri has entered the fray, urging for clarity and transparency in the matter.
Omokri has taken to social media to address the claims made by Rufai Oseni regarding Tinubu’s academic credentials, challenging Oseni to release the subpoena upon which he based his allegation that Chicago State University denied Tinubu’s academic qualifications.
Omokri’s challenge, now in its sixth day, has been an attempt to bring the truth to light regarding the controversy.
In a tweet, Omokri stated, “This is now the sixth day of my challenge to my ‘cousin’ Rufai Oseni to publish the subpoena upon which he alleged that Chicago State University denied Bola Tinubu’s academic credentials on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.”
Not only has Omokri continued to press for transparency, but he has also shared documents he received from Chicago State University.
To provide evidence, he shared the university’s phone number and email address for verification. Additionally, he published his flight ticket to Chicago, emphasizing his dedication to uncovering the truth.
In response to Omokri’s efforts, social media users have expressed support and skepticism. A user named Daniel Onobo commended Omokri’s unbiased approach, stating, “Mr. Reno I can tell that you are objective and unbiased. Even though Tinubu is not your preferred candidate, you can’t stand allow lies to be published about him.”
However, not all responses were positive. Street General (@StrtGeneral) criticized Omokri’s persistence, suggesting he sought attention for his political career.
With the controversy showing no signs of abating, Mr. Incredible (@Incredible9055) weighed in, expressing doubt over the authenticity of the documents Omokri shared.
He commented, “Oga Reno, I can as well prepare this letter myself with that letterhead. @ChicagoState can never give you a letter without an authorized signature on it. No University does that sef.. I thought you are wiser than this.”
