Kano govt seeks divine favor ahead tribunal ruling
As the Kano State Election Petition Tribunal verdict nears, the state government held a special prayer session on Saturday, seeking divine intervention for the continuity of the current administration.
Led by Chief Imam Dr. Sani Ashiru of Kofar Nasarawa Mosque, the prayers called for peace, justice, and tranquility in Kano State and Nigeria.
“We gather to express gratitude to Allah for his blessings, mercy, and the victory granted in the 2023 elections,” the Imam said. “We pray for the prosperity businesses have seen in recent months and the provision of amenities like piped water and streetlights across the state.”
He noted that over 57,000 students were registered for NECO exams for N1.3 billion under this administration. “We pray for our elected leaders at the state and federal levels. May Allah protect and guide them.” He said
The Imam urged divine intervention against scheming enemies trying to undermine leaders and steal the people’s mandate. “Oh Allah, defeat the enemies of the state wherever they are. Bring confusion upon them and establish enduring peace.”
