Lagos residents to experience power outage for eight weeks

Residents in some areas in Lagos State will experience power outage for a total of eight weeks.

According to the power company, Ikeja Electric, consumers in the affected areas will be without power supply for 10 hours daily throughout the eight-week period.

The Nation quoted the Chief Technical Officer of the power company, Jide Kumapayi, as stating that the outage is to enable IE carry out an upgrade to the 132KVA conductors from Ogba to Ikeja.

Kumapayi noted that the outage will begin in October 11 and supplies to the affected areas will be cut from 8am to 6 pm daily.

Some areas to be affected include Oregun axis; Police Training College axis; Anifowoshe; Ojodu; Oba Akran; Magodo; Omole Phase 1 and Oke-Ira, among others.
