An 18-year-old man, Sodiq Raji, on Tuesday appeared before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly assaulting someone with a knife.
Raji, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of assault.
The prosecuting counsel, Insp. E. O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 19 at 7.30 a.m. at Ota Market.
Adaraloye said the defendant assaulted one Abubakar Musa with a sharp object, suspected to be a knife, when a fight occurred between them.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Adeyemi ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun government.
She adjourned the case to February 7 for further hearing.
