US actor/comedian Nick Cannon is said to be taking time off the set following the death of his five-month-old baby, Zen, UK Metro reports.
WuzupNigeria reported that Zen died after battling a rare brain tumour which he had battled since he was two months old.
“Over the weekend, I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus…brain cancer.
“It’s tough. And I have my therapist here, who’s been helping us through it,” the father of six said on Tuesday in an emotional speech on the Nick Cannon Show.
Recall that Zen is the ‘Wild n Out’ star’s seventh child whom he shared with Alyssa Scott since his birth in June 2021.
However, UK Metro quoting sources reports that former Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor will now be taking “some time off” the show as he mourns his son.
An insider told Entertainment Tonight that Nick was “scheduled to have two show tapings on Monday, including a live show. Those were both unexpectedly cancelled on Sunday and a pre-taped episode was aired on Monday instead”.
Another source added that the “crew and studio audience were all shocked by the devastating news, and were all ‘unaware of the tragic and extremely personal announcement Nick was going to make about the loss of his youngest child, Zen, during the live show this morning”.
