Echeng Eworo Echeng, on Monday, assumed office as the new Commissioner of Police for Bayelsa State.
The new CP pleaded with residents of the State to help the security operatives to effectively combat criminality.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, Asinim Butswat, “CP Echeng took over today, 9th August 2021, following the retirement from service of CP Mike Okoli FSI (retd.)”
The state further explained that “Prior to his appointment as the CP Bayelsa State, CP Echeng Eworo Echeng had previously served as Police Component Commander, Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe, Compol Mopol, Force Headquarters Abuja, CP Central Criminal Registry, FCID, Abuja, DC Border Patrol Force Headquarters Abuja, DC FCID Zone 13, Ukpo- Dunukofia.
“CP Echeng holds BA (Hons) History, from University of Maiduguri, Borno State. He has attended several courses, notable among them are; Mission Training Cell, Keilce Poland, Officers Conversion course PMF, Gwoza, Unit Combat Course PMF, Gwoza and Tactical Command Course – Police Staff College Jos.
“The Command, by this announcement, solicits the cooperation and partnership of the good and well-meaning people of Bayelsa State, to accord the new Commissioner of Police, the necessary support to discharge his duties of maintaining law and order in the State.”
