Baba Dee, older sibling of the late Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi popularly known as Sound Sultan, has explained why the body of his brother was not brought back to the country for burial.
The grieving artiste, whose real name is Dare Fasasi, disclosed that being a Muslim, the ‘Jagbajantis’ crooner was buried according to Islamic rites in New York.
Baba Dee, who made the revelation on Instagram, decried that words alone cannot express the pain and agony that he is passing through.
According to him, Sound Sultan was buried on Sunday at the Marlboro Muslim Cemetery in New Jersey, US.
“Lanre I never knew a day like this will come.., my beloved brother and partner. Till me meet and part no more…” he wrote.
While sharing the burial pictures of his brother, Baba Dee pledged support for Farida Fasasi, his late brother’s wife and his three kids.
“Buried according to Muslim rites in New York, you are a symbol of grace and even in death, God’s grace was with you. @soundsultan everybody is saying good things about you, I wish they knew how good you are,” he wrote.
“Take heart @faridafasasi I will never leave you dear. Thank you everybody that made this possible…”
