JUST IN: Lagos Assembly lifts Surulere council chairman’s suspension
Lagos House of Assembly has lifted the suspension of Chairman of Surulere Local Government Area, Tajudeen Ajide.
The decision was reached by the House during plenary after the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, read an apology letter from Ajide.
The assembly had, last week, suspended three council chairmen over alleged disregard for the guidelines governing their activities.
The suspended chairmen were Ogidan Mukandasi representing Lekki, Suleiman Jelili (Alimosho) and Tajudeen Ajide (Surulere).
The lawmakers noted that the assembly could no longer continue to watch while the council chairmen continued to flout the state’s local government guidelines.
