Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary.

I’m certain most people don’t know the first thing about celebrating Good Friday as it’s neither one of their regular rituals or celebration….they are more familiar with Valentine’s Day, Christmas, or even New years day.

Today we are going to be discussing seven reasons why Christians celebrate Good Friday and what it really means.

From the early days of Christianity, Good Friday was observed as a day of sorrow, penance, and fasting; a reminder that the sins of all people made it necessary for him to die in the first place.

4. Good Friday is a day we celebrate the success of Jesus Christ, the opening of gates of heaven for us all in the universe.

5. Sometimes all Christians need is deep sombre worship. Good Friday offers that.

6. Good Friday is an Ancient Christian Holiday.

7. You can’t celebrate Easter without acknowledging Good Friday; they represent the two biblical poles of “suffering and glory.”
