British-Nigerian footballer, Shola Shoretire, has been awarded the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for February.
The Manchester United prospect scored a hat-trick in the 6-4 win over Blackburn Rovers for Neil Wood’s Under-23 side and has made appearances in the Premier League and Europa League for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s senior team after signing his first professional contract.

He wrapped the month up with a goal in the 3-0 victory against Arsenal, and his form not only earned him his first professional contract.

Shoretire caught the eye of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and who then gave him his senior debut appearance for Manchester United in the Premier League against Newcastle United, coming on as a substitute in the 3-1 win.

The 17-year-old star made history by becoming the club’s youngest ever player in a European match, playing 14 minutes in the goalless draw with Real Sociedad in the UEFA Europa League.

He topped a seven-man shortlist that included Nathan Broadhead (Everton), Liam Delap (Manchester City), Cody Drameh (Leeds United), James McAtee (Man City), Connor McBride (Blackburn) and Ethon Varian (Stoke City).
