Free At Last: Ghanaian-born surgeon frees Tessica Brown’s hair from gorilla glue
The Louisiana woman, Tessica Brown, who went viral for using gorilla glue in place of hairspray on her hair has reportedly had a successful surgery.
Wuzupnigeria informed that Mrs Brown was contacted by Ghanaian-born US surgeon, Dr Michael Obeng, director of MiKO Plastic Surgery, after numerous failed attempts to get the glue off.
Recent reports revealed that Brown, who announced her ordeal in video on TikTok, is recovering from surgery after Obeng successfully removed the adhesive from her scalp.
Brown’s manager, Gina Rodriguez, told Entertainment Tonight that plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng was able to successfully “remove all of the Gorilla Glue out of her hair.”
“She is currently resting and healing from the ordeal,” Rodriguez said. “As you can imagine, Tessica’s scalp is extremely sensitive right now and will need some time to recover.”
Obeng told CBS that she will spend the next two to three months recovering from the operation.
Although Brown created a GoFundMe page at the start of her ordeal to raise donations for any medical treatments with a goal of $1,500, Obeng offered to treat her for free and according to People, the GoFundMe has since surpassed its goal by raising $20,525.
However, Gorilla Glue makers have since sympathised with Brown and further informed the general public that the product is not to be used on the eyes, skin or clothes.
“We are glad to see in her recent video that Miss Brown has received medical treatment from her local medical facility and wish her the best,” the company added.
