A Buckingham Palace servant of the Queen of England, Adamo Canto, has been charged with stealing two prestigious medals from the palace.
The Sun reports that the 37-year-old who is set to appear before Westminster magistrates on Monday has served the Queen for at least six years.
Canto allegedly took a Companion of the Order of the Bath gong, belonging to retired Navy vice-admiral Sir Anthony Johnstone-Burt, 62 and a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order medal belonging to retired British Army officer Major General Matthew Sykes, 65.
According to reports, Johnstone-Burt’s medal was reportedly listed on auction website eBay for £350.
Canto is understood to have made numerous social media posts of himself at the Palace, royal estates such as Balmoral and Sandringham, including a TikTok video of him pointing at Buckingham Palace behind him and is seen miming to the lyrics of Consider Yourself from Oliver Twist.
A family member told The Sun: “It is just not like him to do anything like this.
Buckingham Palace did not comment.
