Again, Omokri shades divorced slay queens with Agbani Darego comparison
Former presidential aide, Reni Omokri has yet again shaded divorced slay queens, this time, comparing them to former Miss World, Agbani Darego.
Recall that the rights activist first shaded slay queens on Nov 23 when he suggested that the media project more pictures of women like Maryam Babangida (the late wife of former Nigerian military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida) and not “bleached divorcee slay queens.”
The tweet attracted a backlash from one “divorced slay queen” Toke Makinwa who labelled Omokri “clown face” for “divorce shaming” slay queens.
She suggested that Omokri’s kind are “the reasons why a lot of people stay in unhealthy situations and lose their dignity and In some cases their lives,” adding that “people like that clown Clown face are probably in unhealthy marriages too.”
Makinwa, however, advised that “You can celebrate a version of beauty without putting another down, you don’t have to meddle in women’s business too.”
Unperturbed by Makinwa’s response, Omokri on his social media accounts today, Nov 26, fired another shot suggesting that women who bleach remain a danger to themselves and the society.
Omokri who Uploaded a photo of the beautiful former pageant added that women “do not need to be light-skinned and have surgically enhanced features to be loved.”
He did not fail to note that Darego is happily married with a child without bleaching of getting a body surgically enhanced.
“When you bleach and surgically enhance your body, you are not just saying ‘I hate myself’, you also teach young dark skinned girls to likewise hate themselves. No matter how many rich old men date you, you remain a danger to yourself and society!
“Love your dark skin. Live a life worthy of emulation. Look at your photos before you bleached. You were the epitome of beauty. A natural African woman. You do not need to be light-skinned and have surgically enhanced features to be loved. You were already lovely.
“Look at @AgbaniDarego. The first and only Nigerian to win the Miss World Pageant. Black and beautiful. She did not bleach or surgically enhance herself. Yet, she is married, has a child, and is a thing of joy to herself and her race. A beacon of virtue and pride to the Black Race. Young Black girls can look at her and feel beautiful. Black is Beautiful. Say it with me-I’m Black and I am proud!”
