Why I congratulated Wizkid on ‘Made In Lagos’, Davido reveals

Singer-songwriter, David Adeleke, fondly called Davido has opened up on why he congratulated Wizkid on his recently released album.

Recall that Wiz’s 14-track #MadeInLagos album featuring Burna Boy, H.E.R, Damian Marley, amongst others dropped on October 29, 2020.

In a chat with Bolanale Olukunni on NdaniTV’s TheJuice4 ahead of his forthcoming album, ‘ABetterTime’, Davido spoke about his congratulatory message to Wizkid despite the differences between both singers.

Asked why he congratulated Wizkid via Twitter, he said, “I just did it, I can’t lie, I didn’t think about it, I just did it…I just posted it, I can post anything I want on my page.”

He, however, added that he wasn’t expecting a response to the tweet because he knew “he would not respond.”

Davido went further to reveal that he has never called Wizkid before despite having his contact, he said: “I’ve never called him before.”

Asked if they will ever be able to resolve their issues, Davido said, “I don’t know o, ask Mr Ayo (Wizkid) himself… You know me I gat hits in my computer all day.”

Davido, however, caused a further stir when he stated that he’s the biggest artist in Nigeria. “I’m bigger than everybody, yes I am(biggest artist in Nigeria), Fact is there, it’s clear…In terms of everything, everything in this life,” refusing to go into details.

Asked if he’s opened to collaborate with and other artists, he said, “Of course, I was just in Ghana..[but] “Me and Wiz have never been in the studio, never. We used to be friends back then,”

His new album ABetterTime which drops tomorrow, Nov 13, featuring a host of stars including Mayorkun, Bella Shmurda, Niki Minaj, Chris Brown, Nas, Sauti Sol amongst others.

He recently dropped a single off the album, Do Crazy featured Lil Baby and it has topped Apple Music’s most-played songs in Nigeria for two days since
