Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly called AY has taken a shot at Nigeria over the conduct of the ongoing 2020 presidential election in the United States.

In a statement on his official Twitter handle, AY said he has not gotten a report of disruption of the electoral process by political thugs as is the norm in Nigeria.

The last general elections in Nigeria (2019) was marred by irregularities in multiple states with reports of violence, disruption of the electoral process and most importantly, the stealing of ballot boxes which has become a norm in the country’s electoral scene.

“I have been following the US elections since last night, yet to hear that AREA BOYS came shooting and moved Ballot boxes oh. I just love Nigeria my country. Lol”

President Donald Trump faces off with former Vice President Joe Biden in the 2020 elections which started on November 3rd, 2020.

As at the time of the report, the Democratic Party’s candidate, Biden, is leading the electoral votes with some states yet to be declared, according to AFP.

Trump has won 19 states so far including Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Tennessee — all states he won in 2016.

Biden has captured 17 states including his home state Delaware and big prizes California and New York, as well as the US capital. As with Trump, so far, all states claimed by Biden were won by Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016.

So far, that gives Biden 213 electoral votes and Trump a maximum of 138, because Nebraska splits its electoral votes based on congressional district.

The magic number is 270. Observers expect the hotly contested race for the White House to come down to a handful of key battleground states that have yet to be called.
