Gov Sanwo-Olu announces new curfew hours in Lagos
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of has announced that the curfew imposed to restore law and order in the state will now operate on a new timeframe.
Sanwo-Olu made the known in an update given by his Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, on Sunday evening.
According to the notice, the 12hour curfew which operated from 6pm to 8am will now be functional between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
As such, Lagos residents can now go about their businesses from 6am in the morning to 8pm in the evening.
This came after the governor, on Friday, eased the 24-hour curfew from 6pm to 8am.
Recall that the curfew was imposed on the state to curb the civil unrest in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests against police brutality.
The commissioner stated, “The curfew in Lagos State has been reviewed. Restriction time is now 8 pm to 6 am.
“Lagosians are enjoined to plan their journey times as they go about their lawful businesses. Public schools remain shut till further notice.”
