Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Lagos State has announced plans to relax the 24-hour curfew imposed on the state to curb violence across the state by Friday, Oct 23.
Tempers flared on Tuesday after the military attacked unarmed #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate after an initial 24-hour curfew, leading to widespread chaos across the state and an extended curfew.
“Once we see the streets are cleared up and all the agitation and high nerves have gone down, we might slow down the curfew by tomorrow (Friday) or next tomorrow (Saturday) at the latest,” Sanwo-Olu said on Thursday morning.
The governor revealed that the easing of the curfew was necessary for Lagos residents to restock food supplies and other essential commodities.
