Red dress controversy: Mercy Aigbe’s lawyers demand apology from bride

The lingering red dress controversy has continued to gather more momentum as actress Mercy Aigbe, through her lawyer replied the bride, Mrs. Lawrentta Sawyer and her legal solicitors.

In a letter by Aigbe’s lawyers, Nwokeji Ibeakokwu & Co, titled “The Ongoing Red Dress Scandal Involving Mercy Aigbe,” it was stated that their client was an innocent pawn in the messy red dress scandal.

An official of Nwokeji Ibeakokwu & Co, confirmed to Wuzup Naija that they truly represent Mercy Aigbe.

Aigbe’s lawyer also threatened legal actions on the designer, Maryam Elisha @rikaotobyme, stating that their client had written a letter to her demanding an apology, as well as a detailed explanation of the true state of events and, are currently in the process of filling action against her in court.

The letter read,”It is obvious that our client is an innocent pawn in this messy scandal initiated by Ms.
Maryam Elisha doing business under the name Rikaotobyme and such demand that a public apology be issued online the same way your client Mrs. Lawrentta Sawyer, absolving our client Mrs. Mercy Aigbe of any wrongdoing on the ongoing red dress saga.

” If it is not done within 7 days then we will proceed with court actions against both designer and your client for defamation of character.”
