Police rescue abused house help who was left to feed on biscuits for weeks

Photos of a 13-year-old female house help who was reportedly rescued by the police after being abused by her boss are going viral online.

According to multiple reports, 13-year-old Nkechi Oseh was locked indoors by her Madam, Ms Betty Ifeoma, a staff of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Lagos state office at their residence, Number 30 Adeniran Ajao Estate Anthony, Lagos while the madam travelled out of the country and left only two packets of cabin biscuit.

Nkechi told her rescuers, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Ag CP Imohimi Edgal and his crew, that she is an orphan and whenever her boss travels and locks her in, she resorts to drinking water from the toilet whenever she is thirsty.

According to her, she has been locked up at four different times since her uncle brought her from Igboju in Delta state.

“I have been locked up for two weeks, one-week and three-weeks at different times when she travelled to London and since she traveled on Saturday I have been crying before God helped me today,” she was quoted as saying.

Nkechi, the abused house help whose scares is a testimony to the kind of treatment she has been receiving before the rescue is reported to currently be under the care of the child protection unit of the Ministry of Youth and Social Development Lagos State.

Empty packet of biscuits and a container of eaten food which was passed through the burglary proof for Nkechi to eat were also discovered on the floor.
