Lagos state governor, Akinwunnmi Ambode was on Friday afternoon booed by supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s secretariat on Acme road, Ogba, Lagos.
The party had held a meeting with all ward chairmen in the state at the secretariat to strategise on the forthcoming Local Government election in the state.
At the meeting were the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Ambode, deputy governor, Dr Oluranti Adebule, APC Lagos chairman, Chief Henry Ajomale and other top leaders of the party.
Thousands of party faithful had thronged the party secretariat for the meeting very early in the morning. When it was time for Governor Ambode to speak, party supporters were said to have booed the governor, saying that they were not enjoying largess from his administration.
They said the governor had failed to distribute rice and other packages to them during the last Eid-el-Fitr celebration, which they usually get during the last administration.

It took the intervention of Tinubu to calm the supporters down, assuring them that he had talked with the governor and that he would change, adding that they should expect some largesse very soon from the governor.
The governor was said to have appealed to them that things would be different henceforth which calmed their nerves.
Meanwhile, Governor Ambode, at the event, urged Lagos residents to approach the offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across the State for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to enable them participate in future elections.
The Governor said it was important for residents of the State who are yet to collect their PVCs to approach the electoral body, as the process of distribution of the cards has begun in earnest.
The Governor said available information at his disposal was to the effect that a lot of people were not aware of the ongoing exercise by INEC, and as such, people must be made to be aware and take the distribution seriously.
Among those present at the meeting include Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluranti Adebule; Chairman, APC Lagos State, Otunba Henry Ajomale; former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye; Party Chieftain, Prince Tajudeen Olusi; Senator representing Lagos East at the Upper Legislative Chamber, Gbenga Ashafa; Southwest APC Women Leader, Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson; and Deputy Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun, among others.
