Two naval officers shot dead in Kogi (Graphic photos)
Two naval officers, a male and a female, were shot dead by yet to be identified persons along the Lokoja-Okene Expressway in Kogi State.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at about 6:00 pm yesterday, today July 9.
The officers were travelling in a Toyota Sienna bus when they were stopped by the gunmen who opened fire, killing them on the spot.
This comes a few days after a Nigerian Army officer, GSM Abubakar, was killed along the same highway.
Abubakar, a captain attached to the 353 Artillery Regiment, Ojo, Lagos, was travelling from Lagos to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, in company with his wife and mother to participate in this year’s junior officers course when bandits opened fire on them, killing the soldier instantly.
The Kogi state police command is yet to comment on the incident.
