Katsina villagers protest as bandits abduct man, daughter [Photos]
Residents of Yantumaki town in Katsina State on Tuesday protested against bandits’ attacks in the town and in neighbouring communities.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the residents barricaded the Katsina/Kankara major highway and blocked the road leading to the town with used tyres, dried trees and debris.
The development made scores of users of the highway and those travelling to turn back.
It was learnt that the protesters were also irked by the kidnap of one Alhaji Mansir Yusuf and his daughter by bandits around 1 a.m on Tuesday.
The protest was still on by the time of filing this report.
The Spokesman for the Katsina police command, SP Gambo Isah was yet to react to the incident.
Recall that the District Head of Yantumaki, Alhaji Abu Atiku, was a fortnight ago murdered by bandits.
The incident took place around 11.55 p.m.
A combined team of security operatives are currently in the state to curb activities of bandits and kidnappers.
